you only get one life, how many of us here have come out of the dubs as adults and come to the conclusion that we would take blood now if we needed it?

If it would save a persons life I would do it and give them the chance to never speak to me again, at least then the choice wasn't on their conscience and they can have a second chance

it took 7 months to reach mars.

they will try to find signs of life on mars.

it's a shame the beagle2 hasn't contacted yet although when the mothership goes into orbit it may well be found. It amazes me that they spend hundreds of millions getting stuff up there and then 'hope' that it won't hit a big rock when it lands!

this subject came up with my mother yesterday.

she is in her late 70's.

she adamantly refuses blood.

depends how much I loved them. If it was someone I couldn't live without I would do it without a second thought, if a blood transfusion would have kept my mother alive I would have signed the form and kept the dubs out with shotgun if necessary.

my nephew sent me this problem that his teacher gave him.

you have to go through each line only once and come back to the starting point.

start wherever you want but you have to come back to that starting point without missing one line.

you can do it by folding the paper, or you can do it by going through the point at the corner of some of the boxes crossing 3 lines at once

take a close look at paragraph 4. am i the only one who can see the old pattern of the 1980's re-emerging?

i had thought that the watchtower had begun to take a more reasonable approach to the secular education of it's members children yet here they are again in 2004 willing to jeopardise the education these young people receive for the sake of indoctrination and control.. .

Dubs, you don't have to be thick but it helps......... us to keep you within the fold

I can remember way back when (probably some time in the mid 80's) when there was an article which actually warned against getting a decent education as it would lead to pride in ones self and less reliance on Jehovah. They pointed out that the bulk of the congregation weren't the educated phylosophers but were 'common folk' who were meek and teachable.

Now I find this bloody offensive (isn't there a scripture that says something along the lines of using your gifts to god's praise?) where they are basically saying that it's ok to be thick because only then will you not question the ~~garbage~~ food that the WTBTS provides.

Why oh why oh why do those within the congregation not see this and destroy them from within?

I'm glad you are out. It hurts for a little while until you learn to readjust your life to the world of potential out there. You are 17, enjoy what you have and be glad that you did not waste any more years on that dead unloving religion.

Go wild, get laid and do whatever you feel will make you happy, your future is an open freeway spread out in front of you just waiting for you to take the first steps on the journey to the rest of your life. The journey is an adventure and should be enjoyed to the full, ignore the destination and enjoy the journey, enjoy the here and now.
